Vince Thompson Biography
Founder and Managing Partner
Vince Thompson has an eye for transformational opportunities as well as the ability to create business models and successfully lead the teams that scale them.
Earlier in his career Vince lead the advertising sales organization for AOL in the West and went on to serve as Facebook's first head of National Sales. He's the author of a bestselling book on Management called Ignited and has hosted over 80 episodes of a business show for CNet's business brand, BNet.
In 2008 he engineered a unique private sale of Facebook stock on Wall Street that Business Week later credited with starting the secondary market industry and changing the liquidity model in Silicon Valley.
Vince has served as an interim CEO, a public company board member for Spark Networks (JDate and Christian Mingle) and a consultant to over 30 companies including digital startups, TV Networks and Studios.
With his firm Middleshift, his recent focus has been on creating new revenues for the rapidly changing entertainment and media business and investing in and mentoring early stage companies.
Vince also serves as a venture partner at Zuma Ventures and on the board of First Star, a non-profit dedicated to helping Foster Youth get into college.
He holds an undergraduate degree from USC's Annenberg School of Communications and an MBA from Pepperdine's Graziadio School of Business.
